Pool:
Singapore - Singapore Airport Pool
Grade: A
The Good: Location, Location, Location
The Ugly: The pool is small and a funny
shape.
Reflections: It may appear to be a colossal
extravigence to award a kidney shaped smallish pool on the
roof of Singapore Airport an "A". As we have said
a pool should be measured not only for what it is, but in
the context of its environment. In this case environment
is all. Invariably New Zealanders at Singapore Airport have
flown for 10 hours and have five hours to wait for their
next flight. We have tried dashing into town for a swim
at the University. Now the Airport has a pool of its own,
it is far better to stroll up to the roof for a relaxed
swim. The pool is only big enough for five or six strokes
in each direction but we've found it serves the purpose
well. There is a poolside bar for coaches and administrators
to exercise at as well. The changing rooms are fully equiped
with showers, towels, shaving gear, dryers and the like.
There are numerous lounger type chairs to snooze on before
your next flight. It's a good deal and all for about $NZ10.
