Probably the two most important issues covered in the Swimwatch blog have been the disaster of centralised training and, very recently, the source and consequences of trauma in sport. This most recent issue has come into sharp focus as a result of the tragic death of cyclist, Olivia Podmore.
While I have written the introduction to each story in the series, the important bits have been contributed by an Auckland specialist, Dr. Alex Hart.

So far we have published two stories in the series but plan to add something new every week or so. To make these contributions to the safety of sport debate easier to find we have created a quick search tool in the top right-hand corner of the Swimwatch opening page. It appears under the heading – DR ALEX HART SERIES.
I think you will find her thoughts on the subject well worth reading. Certainly it is a subject that needs the fresh air her views bring to the subject.
